MABALACAT CITY – A star-studded movie of a heist, Red Notice, comes in trifecta of Hollywood’s biggest stars starring Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, and Dwayne Johnson which will premiere on Netflix beginning Nov. 12.
A global pursuit in the middle of a daring art thievery has gotten FBI’s top profiler John Hartley (Johnson) forced to partner with the world’s greatest art thief Nolan Booth (Reynolds) in order to catch the world’s most wanted art thief, “The Bishop” (Gadot).
The high-flying adventure takes the trio around the world, across the dance floor, trapped in a secluded prison, into the jungle, and constantly into each other’s company to be on the case of a high profile art heist serving the highest level of warrant issued that is ‘Red Notice.’
In an exclusive virtual press conference held Friday, Reynolds, Gadot, and Johnson shared how the movie has got them interested in playing their roles and reunite again on the set amid the pandemic.
“It’s always interesting working with larger than life personalities like them and you never know how it’s going to go. But you know, I’m also a fan of film and of movie stars. And people don’t realize that just because I work in this industry where I’ve been for almost 30 years now, I still get excited and geeked out,” said Reynolds.
“So he (Johnson) did the movie because of me. But to be fair, he was attached to the movie before I was,” quipped Gadot.
“I was blown away by how ambitious and how surprising the story is. And I was also very intrigued to be able to play a character who’s a bit different than what I usually used to do,” Gadot added.
“So I was going to sneak my way somewhere into the movie. I was going to look like a small role, a supporting role. But yeah, my role grew,” furthered Johnson.
Thrilled to be reunited with her former castmates from The Criminal (Reynolds) and the Fast & Furious franchise (Johnson), Gadot said both Reynolds and Johnson are well-grounded and easy to work with while both actors also praise Gadot’s work ethic.
“You go with the flow and you dance with the vibe,” said Gadot. “Ryan is the funniest to be around. We just jive and laugh. We’re very different and at the same time we have a lot in common and all of us are very family oriented. We like to be silly and laugh at ourselves. Their fame and their success never got into their head in a bad way. And I just love both of them.”
“It is second to none. She’s so charming in the movie and it’s always fun when you get to have a front row seat to someone you’re already a fan of, and then you get to see them moving in ways that you didn’t expect,” said Reynolds.
“And for me, that was definitely seeing how kind of ironic she can be and how easily she can throw a fastball with some stank on it comedically, that was something that I was really excited by,” Reynolds added.
Directed and written by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence, Skyscraper) and produced by Hiram Garcia, Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, Beau Flynn’s Flynn Picture Co. and Thurber’s Bad Version, Inc., Red Notice is a stylish globe-trotting game of cat-and-mouse-and-cat movie for the family.
