CLARK FREEPORT – The Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) and other tourist spots in Palawan will be accessible in direct flights from the Clark International Airport (CIA) courtesy of AirAsia-Philippines beginning April 20.
AirAsia, the country’s newest low cost carrier, announced a promotion to celebrate its maiden flight from the CIA to the Puerto Princesa International Airport next month. It will launched flights from the CIA to Davao and Kalibo, Aklan on March 28.
Up for grabs are free seats which will enable guests to fly from Clark – Puerto Princesa at zero-fare, while only paying an all-in-fare from P275, which covers fuel surcharge, processing fee and government mandated fees such as aviation security fee and VAT, said AirAsia in a statement.
The promotion is part of AirAsia’s efforts to create affordable travel and live up to its tagline, ‘Now Everyone Can Fly’,” it added.
“As a true low cost airline, we ensure that our guests are always informed of what they are paying for when they book our flights, and especially our promo seats.
AirAsia believes in transparency and no hidden charges or misleading promotions will be practiced,” said Marianne Hontiveros, chief executive officer of AirAsia Inc.
The P275 all-in-fare promo will be available for booking from March 20– 25, 2012, and guests will be able to travel from April 20, 2012 to January 31, 2013.
These all-in-fares are available online at www.airasia.com and also available via mobile at mobile.airasia.com as well as via AirAsia apps for Blackberry, iPhone and Android phones.
The apps are available for download at Blackberry App World, iTunes App Store and Android Marketplace by searching for the keyword AirAsia.
AirAsia’s new service to Puerto Princesa from Clark will provide the accessibility to visit Calauit Island Wildlife Sanctuary, The Coron Reef, Tubbataha Reefs National Marine Park, the famous Puerto Princesa Underground River which has been voted as one of the seven wonders of nature and many more adventure and leisure spots.
Last month, the Filipino Low Cost Carrier announced the launching of the two daily flights departing from Clark to Kalibo International Airport and to Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao beginning March 28, 2012.
Effective April 15, however, AirAsia’s twice daily flights to Davao will be reduced to once daily to make way for the Puerto Princesa route.
“We’re a new player and we have to be sensitive to market demand. Palawan is a beautiful destination that travelers from Northern and Central Luzon would want to see.
It is a market with lots of potential. It is gaining popularity and highly likely for us to anticipate additional frequencies,” Hontiveros said.
“These changes will improve domestic connectivity. When we have more aircrafts, we will explore adding frequency to Davao,” she added.
