MANILA, Philippines, 14 January 2025 – AIA Philippines, formerly Philam Life and now the local arm of AIA Group, the largest pan-Asian life insurer, has recently taken fitness to the next level with “AIA Pedal & Punch”— a fun, no-pressure workout experience, delivered through indoor cycling and boxing classes. Presented in partnership with Electric Studio, the Philippines’ first indoor cycling boutique, and Flyweight Boxing, Manila’s top boxing studio, this two-in-one sweat fest was all about inspiring Filipinos to embrace healthier, longer, and better lives in the most electrifying way.
The high-energy event kicked off at Electric Studio, where participants powered through an indoor cycling session that mixed upbeat coaching with a killer playlist—making every pedal stroke feel like a win. The excitement carried over to Flyweight Boxing, where attendees threw punches in a contender class packed with shadow boxing, heavy bag drills, and core-boosting exercises. The whole workout experience was designed to be no-pressure and accessible to all fitness levels.
“At AIA Philippines, we believe health and well-being should be empowering, inclusive, and most of all, enjoyable,” said Melissa Henson, Chief Marketing Officer, AIA Philippines. “AIA Pedal & Punch is about making fitness exciting, motivating, and something you look forward to. Even the most challenging tasks become easier when we are having fun, so we wanted to create an environment where people can enjoy themselves and build a community that celebrates health and wellness.”
“Seeing everyone come together, sweating it out and having fun, was truly inspiring. I felt really good, and it motivated me to take charge of my health,” one participant shared. The fun got even better as AIA brand ambassadors Wil Dasovich and Nico Bolzico joined the action — sharing their personal wellness stories and encouraging everyone to keep moving, stay active, and live their best lives.
AIA Pedal & Punch is just one part of AIA Philippines’ ongoing activities to inspire Filipinos to embrace healthier habits. This initiative is aligned with the AIA One Billion ambition, which aims to inspire one billion people across Asia by 2030 to live healthier, longer, and better lives. The company also sponsors major fitness events like the Rock ‘n’ Roll Manila Running Series, helping thousands of Filipinos take their first steps toward better health.
By blending innovative wellness initiatives with comprehensive health solutions, the company is redefining how Filipinos experience health and well-being beyond insurance. With the recent integration of MediCard, they now deliver a complete range of integrated health solutions —combining protection, prevention, and healthcare solutions—tailored to meet the Filipino’s evolving needs. With AIA Vitality, the only science-backed health and wellness program of its kind, AIA also rewards members for adopting healthy habits, from getting regular health check-ups to daily workouts. The rewards include mobile wallet credits, shopping vouchers, and even enhanced insurance coverage.
“At AIA, we are committed to helping people live healthier, longer and better lives, so, as Filipinos embark on their personal health journeys, we hope to make their healthy choices more meaningful and rewarding,” Henson adds.
