“Nag-stay ako ng fourteen years sa GMA and, I think, napakita ko naman ang loyalty ko and natanaw ko rin ang utang na loob ko. Nagpaalam ako nang maayos. Hindi ako umalis nang basta-basta.”
The villainess in the now defunct show “Ika-6 Na Utos”, knew that she will be receiving negative comments regarding her transfer to ABS-CBN.
Some people say Ryza is “inggrata” and “walang utang na loob”. “
For me naman, normal lang naman ang mga reactions nila.Pero kasi minsan, for me, ha, hindi kailangang mag-react dahil hindi nila alam kung ano ang totoong nangyari talaga. And I think, yung Viva ang makakasagot niyan, hindi ako.Yung Viva na ang dapat mag-explain.”
Viva Artists Agency handles the career of Ryza. Ryza is a product of the reality-based artista search of GMA StarStruck Season 2, were she was proclaimed as the Ultimate Female Survivor.
Her last project with GMA, “Ika-6 Na Utos” made her as one of local showbiz’s “kontrabida.
But it seems that Ryza is not affected with all the negative comments.
“I think, ginawa ko yung tamang proseso.”
How did GMA top executives reacted to this?
“Okey naman, tinanggap naman nila, and naintindihan naman nila kung ano yung napag-usapan ng Viva.”
Last week, Ryza signed a two-year contract with ABS-CBN.
“Siyempre, bago pumirma, kinakabahan ako. Sobrang kabado ko. First time kong makikita sila. First time kong papasok sa ABS na building, sobrang first time. Iba ang experience, nakaka-amaze!
“‘Tapos, habang pumipirma ko, sobrang lamig ng kamay ko, kabado ako. Sabi nga sa akin ni Ma’am Cory [Vidanes], ‘Relax ka lang, hindi kami nangangain, huwag kang matakot.’”
Everyone was stunned upon knowing that Ryza is one of the cast of :The General’s Daughter”, ABSCBN’s newest soap.
Topbilled by Angel Locsin, Janice de Belen, Eula Valdes, and Maricel Soriano.
“Nakakagulat, kasi after that, yun na ang script reading namin ng bagong show, kay Ate Angel. Nakakaexcite, kasi yung cast, sobrang laki. Kailangan talagang galingan.”
Prior to “the General’s Daughter”, Ryza will be seen first in “Ang probinsyano” with Coco martin.
The actress cleared that it wasn’t easy for for her to decide moving out of GMA.
“Yung paglipat kasi siyempre, hindi naman puwedeng ako lang. Kaya ako nag-hire ng manager para siyang humawak sa career ko. And ibinigay ko naman sa kanila yun at nag-decide sila na ilipat ako sa ABSCBN.”
Now at 30, Ryza sees this as a new chapter in her life.
“Oo, new chapter talaga ng buhay ko ‘to, sa lahat. Kinakabahan ako, siyempre nae-excite ako sa mga makakatrabaho ko. Pero siyempre, hindi pa rin mawawala yung kaba. Sabi naman nila, okey lang daw yun. “Okey lang daw yung may kaba kesa wala.”
The wedding is scheduled on April 20.
Toni Gonzaga made the announcement in their show “Pilipinas got Talent” together with Billy.
“Nais din naming i-congratulate at sasamahan na rin natin ng best wishes dahil sa darating na Biyernes na po ang inaabangang kasal ni Billy and Coleen. We celebrate your love and your union. Mula sa iyong pamilya dito sa Pilipinas Got Talent, we’re so happy for you in this this new journey you’re about to embark on.” says Toni.
On the other hand, Billy thanked the cast and crew of the said show…
“We really just wanna say thank you and thank you Lord. I’m ready for this new journey for me.”
It will be a beach wedding for Billy and Coleen.
December 2016 when the 34-year old “It’s showtime” host made the proposal to Coleen after being on for two years.
Even ABS-CBN executive Laurenti M. Dyogi, the Kapamilya Network’s head of TV Production, was astonished by her decision. Dyogi revealed how the role of Malaya was pitched to the comebacking actress.
He said, “Well, noong ginawa naman talaga yung kwentong yun, merong character na ganon.
“Tapos noong kina-cast na, iniisip namin sino yung bagay, sino yung hindi pa nakikita at matagal na. So when the Bagani team pitched it to Kristine, we’re surprised na nagustuhan niya.”
Kristine has always been vocal about saying that she prefers not to work on soap operas, which is why the executives of Bagani were surprised when she accepted the project.
Dyogi continued, “Kasi ang tagal na ring ayaw na talagang mag-soap ni Kristine, so we’re surprised that she wanted it, she liked it.”
In the series, Kristine plays Malaya, a fairy-like character who has a connection with Ganda, played by Liza Soberano.
Prior to her appearance, Bagani’s drama unit Star Creatives launched an online teaser saying, “Ganda sa Ganda.”
Of this, Dyogi said, “It’s actually a pleasant surprise for us, so we’re happy, ang gaganda, we have Liza and Kristine, two of the most beautiful faces in showbiz, you’ll see them in one screen, so it’s a feat for the Bagani team.”
After Bagani, will Kristine continue doing projects with the Kapamilya Network?
Dyogi answered, “Hindi kami nakapagplano ng ganoon kalayo kasi pamilyado si Kristine, so we don’t know also her plans but we will always be open to working with Kristine.
“Si Kristine naman yata kasi, hindi naman na kailangang magtrabaho talaga so ang gusto niya lang, kung maganda yung project at naibigan niya yung role, I suppose she’s willing to do it.”
Kristine started her career via ABS-CBN’s kiddie gag show Ang TV, which became the training ground for Star Magic’s homegrown talents.
She then became part of popular TV shows such as Gimik and Flames. In 1998, she played a major role in the 1998 mini-series Kung Kailangan Mo Ako as the love interest of Marvin Agustin.
However, it was in year 2000 when she got her biggest break—the lead role in Pangako Sa ‘Yo, which became a phenomenal success.
Her EchoTin love team with Jericho Rosales was tapped for several movies and teleseryes. In 2010, while doing the prime-time series Noah, Kristine decided to leave the series to prepare for her wedding with husband Oyo Sotto.
After six years, Kristine returned to television in 2016 via the GMA-7 blocktimer sitcom Hay, Bahay!, where she worked with Oyo and Vic Sotto.
