ANGELES CITY – Public expectations of reduction in water pollution from the city public market have been raised with the completion of the sewerage treatment plant (STP) near the Pampang Public Market.
Mayor Carmelo ‘Jon” Lazatin over the weekend inspected the facility with is currently on a dry run, primarily looking into its capacity to treat wastewater so it can be repurposed for non-potable uses.
Earlier this year, then-city mayor now Pampanga 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., officially inaugurated the city’s first locally funded wastewater treatment facility, describing it as a landmark step toward environmental protection and sustainable urban development.
The Pampang STP is the second wastewater treatment facility established in this city but the first to be financed entirely by the city government.
The first STP located at the city slaughterhouse was built through a joint venture agreement. in treating wastewater so it can be repurposed for non-potable uses. Angeles CIO
