CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Senior Supt. Keith Singian, acting Pampanga police director, blamed the owner of House of David Pawnshop in Guagua town over the recent robbery perpetrated by suspected members of the Acetylene Gang.

"Had the owner of the shop heeded to our warnings. We might as well prevented the incident," Singian said.

He also said that his men in Guagua town have repeatedly aired the modus operandi of various robbery groups operating in Central Luzon and other areas for the latter to be aware and "do something as precautionary measures."

"The shopdo not have security guards and close-circuit cameras installed inside and outside of the building and alarm system, despite of the reminders by the Guagua policemen," Singian said.

"It seems the owner had no intention of keeping his business secured."

The acting provincial director added that the incident was discovered when a pawnshop employee reported for work and immediately informed the police.

Police said the suspects forced their way inside the building situated near Palza Burgos by destroying the lock at the backdoor using a bolt cutter.

The suspects then stripped the vault containing assorted jewelry and cash using acetylene torch, said Singian.

He said the suspects sneaked inside the building of Bank of Florida located at the ground floor and tried to open the bank vault but failed.

The suspects left the scene leaving behind burglar tools including bolt cutter. They fled using the back door passing through another residential compound and exited in Barangay Sto. Cristo, police investigator said
