ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has ordered the house-to-house vaccination of 1,063 residents in Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios on August 11, using a mobile clinic and ambulance.

“Susuyurin po natin ang 33 barangays sa pagbabakuna. Magsisimula muna po tayo sa maliliit na barangays. Tayo na po mismo ang lalapit at pupunta upang dalhin ang bakuna sa bawat tahanan ng mga Angeleños,” Lazatin said.

According to Lazatin vaccination in the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School will continue as well as the house-to-house inoculation of bedridden seniors and persons with disability.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas presided the meeting at Barangay Virgen delos Remedios today, August 6, detailing preparations for the upcoming house-to-house vaccination.

With Calaguas are Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel; Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center Chief Dr. Froilan Canlas; City Health Officer-in-Charge Dr. Verona Guevarra; Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Head Rudy Simeon; Gender and Development Officer-in-Charge Mina Cabiles; City Social Welfare and Development Officer Edna Duaso; and Jef Sarion of the City Nutrition Office.

The process for the house-to-house vaccination will be the same with the on-site one, which includes screening and counseling, vaccination, and post-monitoring, according to Calaguas, also the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program.

Alongside the bus are also standby ambulance with medical responders and nurse staff from ACDRRMO and one mobile utility vehicle of support staff from GAD, CSWDO, CNO, and Mayor’s Office.

Mayor Lazatin has earlier asked the Department of Health to allow the city government to conduct door-to-door vaccination with its established guidelines, which is the initial plan of the city.

Angeles City now has the highest number of inoculated individuals per day in Pampanga province at more than 4,000 daily vaccinations.

The DOH has also granted Angeles City ‘green status’ which means the inoculation system is efficient, Guevarra said.

To date, 94,745 Angeleños have received their first dose of vaccines while 54,016 are already fully vaccinated. The vaccines — Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Pfizer, and Johnson and Johnson — being administered are the initial donation of DOH.
