ANGELES CITY — The city government is set to introduce its self-produced organic liquid fertilizer to be given free to farmers and residents.

The production process uses black soldier fly technology and fermentation, pioneered by the late City Engineer Donato Dizon, who was the focal person in the city government’s plan to reduce organic waste.

Organic liquid fertilizer improves nutrient absorption for plants, increases soil fertility, and reduces environmental impact. The Department of Agriculture-Region III has already released the test results of the said liquid form of fertilizer that passed the acidity level for foliar fertilizer.

The city central composting facility where the production of the organic liquid fertilizer is centered has been drawing representatives from other local government units, national agencies, and business establishments coming from Pangasinan, Baguio City, Davao, Metro Manila, and Tarlac to benchmark the black soldier fly technology initiative of the city government.

Offices from the city government and some nearby business establishments turn over their biodegradable waste at the central composting facility to show their support for the said project.

Lazatin said the facility is open for everyone who wants to turn over their biodegradable waste and help the city in this project.
