ANGELES CITY – Two suspected top shabu dealers listed among the high-value targets in the drug campaign here were arrested in sting operations in Barangay Balibago here Monday afternoon.
City police director Col. Joyce Patrick Sangalang identified the suspects as Angel Rebarter Barrion and Peter Riteza Macawile, reportedly temporarily staying in the said barangay.
Seized from the suspects were 56 grams of shabu – with an estimated street value of P860,000 – placed in a medium-size cellophane bag and a small sachet, and the P500 bill sting money.
Sangalang said the suspects were earlier placed under close surveillance by Police Station 4 operatives led by Major Aris Gonzales, after the police received reports from informants of illegal drug trade in the area.
Police conducted a series of test buys before Monday’s buy–bust operation along Hadrian Street Extension 3, in Barangay Balibago that resulted to the suspects’ arrest.
According to Sangalang, Barrion and Macawile are included in the list of high-value targets operating in this city and nearby areas in Pampanga and the rest of Central Luzon.
“The campaign against illegal drugs is staying despite of our busy schedule due to quarantine checkpoints to prevent the spread of the coronavirus,” the city police director was quoted as saying in a media report.
The suspects were taken to Station 4 for further investigation preparatory to the filing of charges against them for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
