ANGELES CITY – City hall employees in this highly urbanized city have started receiving their 14th month pay and cash gift this week as directed by Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.
In a statement, the city information office said that “pursuant to Budget Circular No. 2016-4 of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), government employees are entitled to receive their 14th month pay which is equivalent to one month of basic pay, and a cash gift which amounts to P5,000 each.”
The DBM circular provides that the incentives are to be released “not earlier than November 15 to qualified personnel” with certain conditions.
City government plantilla employees who have rendered at least a total or an aggregate of 4 months of service from January 1 to October 13 this year are qualified to receive the said incentive, the city hall statement said.
It noted that the local government has allocated a total of P34.8 million for the incentives of the city hall employees.
Pamintuan directed the local finance team to “ensure the speedy release of the bonuses.”
“The timely release of these bonuses will allow our government employees to aptly prepare for the Yuletide season with their families and relatives,” said Pamintuan.
“Our city government employees have been our partners in making our visions for the city a reality. May this [bonus] also motivate them to always exert their best efforts for the interest of the Angeleños, in the name of public service,” Pamintuan added.
