ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on March 22, 2023 led the rescue operations of three minors, all aged 15, from alleged human trafficking at the entertainment bars along Walking Street, Fields Avenue.
Mayor Lazatin was with the members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, led by Edna Duaso, Business Permit and Licensing Division, headed by Evangeline Malonzo and City Health Office — Sanitation Division, led by Alvin Dingal during the rescue operations.
The city government took the three minors to the CSWDO, and will be under their custody, where they will be provided temporary shelter at the Home for the Girls.
Lazatin ordered the filing of charges against the bar owner and the supervisor of the bar.
In addition, 27 workers were also caught not complying with the required health ID, and were advised for compliance.
Lazatin ordered the closure of the entertainment bars that do not comply with the requirement of health IDs of their employees.
To recall, it has been the priority program of Mayor Lazatin since he took office to conduct rescue operations and to ensure that entertainment bars are in compliance with the city’s regulations.
