ALBAY, BICOL — The Angeles City Government handed over 4,000 packs of relief goods worth P2 Million to the town of Polangui here.

The members of the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) headed by Rudy Simeon, representatives from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) led by Social Officer Welfare 1 Cielo Sarion and personnel from Environmental Management System-City Engineer’s Office turned over the relief goods to Polangui
Mayor Andy Mariscotes and Board Member Pem Imperial, after almost two days of travel.

Despite heavy rains, and mechanical problems which brought about a 15-hour delay, the team still pushed through to make sure that they were able to deliver the city’s food assistance to the residents of Barangay Alomon, Barangay Balangibang, and Barangay Kinale – three heavily hit areas by Typhoon Rolly.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. imparts the importance of helping Filipinos in need, even those coming from other regions.

“Habang pina-prioritize natin ang kapakanan at kaligtasan ng mga Angeleños sa tuwing may kalamidad tulad ng bagyo, bukas at handa rin tayo sa pagtulong sa mga kababayan natin mula sa ibang lugar,” Lazatin said.

Last November 19, the city government has also turned over 4,000 relief packs worth P2 million to the Philippine Air Force 600th Air Base Wing in Clark, which will be distributed to the residents of Cagayan and Isabela, affected by Typhoon Ulysses.

Aside from the city government’s relief assistance, Mayor Lazatin, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assisstant IV Reina Manuel, the managements of Clark International Airport Corporation, also gave their own personal donation for the victims of Typhoon Rolly in Bicol, and Typhoon Ulysses in Cagayan and Isabela.
