ANGELES CITY – The legacy of former mayor and 1st District congressman Carmelo F. Lazatin lives on with his namesake sons winning convincingly in his former turfs.
Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II was reelected 1st District congressman with 144,827 votes against the same amn he trounced in 2016, former Rep. Yeng Guiao who managed to get 101,827 votes.
Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. who ran under the Partido Federalismo ng Pilipinas was elected mayor against closest rival Bryan Matthew Nepomuceno (Partido Abe Kapampangan) and third placer Alex Cauguiran (Kambilan).
Lazatin got 58,955 votes as against Nepomuceno’s 45,479, and Cauguiran’s 26,006 with 99.57 percent of the votes tallied.
Elected vice mayor was Lazatin’s running-mate Vicky Vega-Cabigting (PFP) garnering a vote of 55,579 as against her rivals Edu Pamintuan, Jr. (PAK) who got 47,924 and Maricel Morales’ (Kambilan) 26,804 votes.
