ANGELES CITY – Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. chair Andrea D. Domingo on Thursday turned over to Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. a donation of P5 million for the city’s Covid-19 response.

The donation will cover the charges from hotels that were tapped as temporary quarantine facilities for Covid-19 patients in the city.

It was last April that Lazatin coordinated with members of the Hotels and Restaurants Association in Pampanga for their help in accommodating Covid-19 cases, arriving at the decision to designate a number of hotels as isolation areas for patients who are asymptomatic and with mild symptoms.

Currently, the city has 480 isolation rooms. Of these, 230 which serve free meals and equipped with air coolers are free of charge for indigent Angeleños; 220 also with free meals are a notch higher than the standard room thereby occupants will have to shoulder 50 percent of the charge; 20 were also allotted to the city by the Pampanga provincial government at the Mexico Isolation Facility; and 10 are available at the National Government Administrative Center at New Clark City for Angeleño patients.
