COMMENDATION. Vice Mayor Vicenta Vega-Cabigting, together with the members of Angeles City Council, confers to Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and Chief Adviser IC Calaguas the resolutions commending their services for Angeleños amid the pandemic during the recently held Ulat sa Paglilingkod ng Sangguniang Panlungsod 2021.
ANGELES CITY – The Sangguniang Panlungsod here led by Vice Mayor Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting recognized the Lazatin brothers – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and First District Rep. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II for their exemplary efforts to provide committed service to Angeleños.
The recognition was made after the two local officials continue to work hand-in-hand to uplift health programs, educational development, and infrastructure support to Angeles City, despite the pandemic.
Part of this is the groundbreaking ceremony for the P684-million infrastructure development at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) and City College of Angeles (CCA) in August, which will deliver easier access to public health services and educational development. This was announced by Mayor Lazatin during his State of the City Address 2021.
Copies of Resolution Nos. 9610 and 9611, Series of 2021, were conferred the Lazatin brothers on July 6 at the Hilton Sun Valley Clark, where members of the council and Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting concluded their ‘Ulat sa Paglilingkod ng Sangguniang Panlungsod 2021.’
“We have been honored by our Mayor during his SOCA by acknowledging the Sanggunian’s support and contribution to his administration,” Vega-Cabigting said.
“We firmly believe that one way of helping our kabalens is by helping you accomplish the herculean task of addressing the challenges brought about by the pandemic. We owe it to you and the people of Angeles City,” she added.
During the same event, the city council also awarded Irish “IC” Calaguas, Mayor Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and Tactician, for leading the city government’s vaccination program, thru Resolution No. 9574, Series of 2021.
The said resolution also commended the health workers, Gender and Development Head Mina Cabiles and staff, and other volunteers manning the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School, as the city’s designated vaccination centers, for their service in ensuring the smooth flow of vaccination procedures since March 2021.
“There are no words to best describe how their hard work has helped the city and Angeleños in this difficult time. Totoo nga po, walang mahirap na trabaho, basta nasa puso ang mag-serbisyo,” Vega-Cabigting said.
The Department of Health has given Angeles City a “Green status,” meaning the inoculation system is very efficient, City Health Officer-in-Charge Dr. Verona Guevarra said.
To date, a total of 54,444 Angelenos have been vaccinated for first dose or 13.3 percent of the total city population.
Records from the vaccination center show that as of July 6, a total of 7,207 in priority group A1 received their first dose of vaccine, while 4,457 are already fully-vaccinated; 13,579 for the first dose in A2, 1,433 for the second dose; 19,904 under A3 priority group received the first dose of vaccine, while 3,318 for the second dose; and 13,754 personnel from A4 got their first shot of vaccine while 2 for the second dose.
As of July 6, 9,210 Angeleños have been fully vaccinated. A total of 18,450 Angeleños have received their first dose of AstraZeneca, while 26,637 received their first dose of Sinovac, and 9,357 for the first dose of Pfizer vaccines. These vials of vaccines were initially donated by the DOH.
