ANGELES CITY — The city government here under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has conducted fogging and misting activities in 47 out of 53 public schools to ensure the safety of students and teachers from dengue, as face-to-face classes started last August.

Fogging and misting in the remaining six public schools will be carried out via schedule in the coming days.

“Gusto kong masigurado na ligtas ang ating mga mag-aaral at guro laban sa dengue, kaya naman patuloy ang ginagawa nating fumigation activities sa mga public schools,” Lazatin shared.

Lazatin further said that the Anti-Dengue Task Force, formed from the City Health Office Sanitation Division, is deployed throughout public schools via schedule to conduct the said anti-dengue operation programs.

Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel supervised the said fumigation operation which started on Aug. 1.

The schedule is being prepared by Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Office Chief Irish Bonus-Llego.

Meanwhile, Department of Education — Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ma. Irelyn Tamayo expressed her sincere gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for the ongoing fumigation in public schools in the city.

“These fumigation activities are a great help to protect our learners from dengue. Our salute po to our LGU for always thinking of the welfare of our public schools,” Dr. Tamayo said.

“Ang inisyatibong ito ni Mayor Lazatin ay para macontain at mapuksa ang mga lamok na nagdadala ng sakit na dengue,” Manuel emphasized.

Isikiel Kim from the misting and fogging team also shared that the city is also monitoring the dengue cases in hospitals to immediately conduct fogging and misting where the patient resides.

“Sa lahat ng mga hospital dito sa Angeles, nakamonitor parati ang city government para kung may dengue case eh mapuntahan agad yung lugar nung patient para magfog at mist,” Kim shared.

To recall, the fogging and misting program is one of the priority projects of Mayor Lazatin since he took office in 2019.

Recently, the Anti-Dengue Task Force conducted fumigation in the City Hall building and premises, a regular activity being implemented since 2019 to safeguard employees and citizens visiting City Hall offices.
