ABUCAY, Bataan — Police here on Friday led in the planting of 500 tree seedlings at the material recovery facility site of the town in the upland village of Salian.
Abucay police chief Major Leopoldo L. Estorque, Jr. reported to Bataan police director Col. Joel K. Tampis that the project was one of the contributions of the 1Abucay team to mother nature.
The tree–planting activity has for its theme “Pamana Ko (Pulis at Mamamayan Nagkakaisa Aalang-alang sa Kalikasan o Kay Gandang Pagmasdan).”
Estorque said the tree planting was in partnership with the local government unit of Abucay led by Mayor Liberato Santiago represented by municipal administrator Engr. Ernesto Vergara, environmental specialist Billy Magtanong, agriculturist Erano Marabe, and municipal risk reduction management office chief Noel Basalo.
Also participating in the project were the Abucay Bureau of Fire Protection under SFO3 Alberto Ramos, Jr., Guardians for Special Progress International led by Conrado Roxas, Ed Dariene Tugadi of Wawa Triskellion, Jay Salvador of ShoutOut Spotted, Kaligkasan Warriors and KKDAT.
Planted were seedlings of 300 coffee trees and 200 cashew trees.
Estorque said the project aims to rehabilitate the MRF site in sityo Macaw.
“United as one, we will be conducting more projects for the protection of the environment,” the police chief said.
