City of San Fernando Tourism Office headed by the stunning lass Ching Pangilinan recently organized the 2010 Women’s Week Celebration. This historic and festive celebration started in the year 2004 in honor of revolutionary heroine Nicolasa Dayrit Panlilio, and in time for her birthday September 10. It was the city’s tribute to all kapampangan women regardless of age, status and lifestyle. All participants were welcomed and enjoyed the activities that lasted from September 6 to 12. It aims to uplift the morale, help and support kapampangan women especially those who are abandoned, abused and indigent.

One of the most favorite events was The Art Exhibit held in SM City Pampanga from September 7 to 12. The exhibit showcased wide array of creative pieces from famous kapampangan painters like Rellie Liwanag, Alvaro Jimenez, Noel Catacutan and Rafael Maniago. The paintings were created by use of oil on canvas, watercolor or acrylic on banana stalk and acrylic on canvas. The event was graced by local artists, supporters, families and friends from the local media. It was a very simple and intimate get together brought to light by the ceremonial ribbon cutting and unveiling of twenty four (24) pieces of paintings. Guests were entertained by Magsilbi Tamu Brass Band Quintet and served with delicious cocktails. The Art Exhibit auctioned one painting from each four artists and proceeds of which will benefit the City of San Fernando women’s crisis center.
