Christmas food bazaar opens in Abucay

ABUCAY, Bataan — A large number of people on Sunday continued to patronize the Christmas food bazaar located at the annex building of the new municipal hall here that will remain open until Jan. 3, 2024. 

Christmas bazaar organizers Roxane Bagtas and Lhen Fabunan said not only residents of Abucay but of neighboring towns came and savored the different foods that the more than 50 stalls offer.

Among the wide varieties of choices include grilled fish, chicken and pork, fruit juices and shakes, pasta, silog, sandwiches, bread, and delicacies of Abucay.

Not to be outdone are puto bumbong and bibingka, their presence reminding everyone that Christmas is just around the corner.

The Christmas food bazaar is a project of Mayor Robin Tagle under his program “Abucay, Bayan ng Mahusay.”

“Ang purpose ng bazaar ay upang makilala ang Abucay, which is in the process na, para ipakilala bilang street food capital ng Bataan. Layunin din nito ang mabigyan ng livelihood, kabuhayan ang mga taga-Abucay at karatig-lugar at bilang preparation din sa nalalapit na kapaskuhan,” Fabunan said. 

“Iniimbitahan namin ang lahat na pumunta at dayuhin ang ipinagmamalaki ng Abucay, bayan ng mahusay, ang aming food bazaar na open 3 p.m. hanggang 12 midnight.  More than 50 stalls ang mapagpipilian na may malawak na parking at malaki ang dining area. We can accommodate hundreds of customers,” she added.
