CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda distributed financial subsidies to provide assistance to 680 Child Development Workers (CDWs) in the province on Thursday, October 26.

Governor Delta led the distribution of assistance in Apalit, Lubao, City of San Fernando, and Mabalacat City, together with the board members and local chief executives in the said towns.

The governor said that aside from medical and educational support given to the families of CDWs, he also gave regular subsidies to the CDWs as a gesture of appreciation for their sacrifices in nurturing the pre-schoolers during their formative years.

“Ikayu pung workers, maragul kayu pu bage king barangay level. Ikayu pu ing maging kadwang pengari da reng anak tamu pu. Salamat pu kareng ngang gagawan yu. Pasalamatan taya din y Nanay ampong deng Board Members yu a mimye pondo para kekayu,” he stated.

According to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), each CDW received P10,000 worth of subsidy from the provincial government or equivalent to P2,500 per month.

“Malaki ang pasasalamat namin sa ibinibigay na subsidy nina Gov Delta. Malaking tulong ito para sa aming mga pamilya. Hindi lang do’n pati sa mga medikal at mga anak naming nag-aaral, iskolar din niya,” said Nyrissa Sta. Cruz, treasurer of the Association of Child Development Workers in Pampanga.

The distribution of subsidies coincided with the launching of the “Delta Lunchbox” program wherein a total of 28,934 lunch boxes were distributed to daycare students aged 3 to 4 years old through the program’s assistance.

According to Fe Manarang, acting PSWDO, the program aims to ensure the safety and hygiene of the food brought and consumed by children in daycare centers.

“Bawat city may allocation depende sa number ng daycare children natin. Ang mga lunch box na ito ay for hygienic purposes. Para yung pagkain nila doon na lang lahat ilalagay at hindi na din sila lalabas at nakacover ito para hindi ma-expose pagkain nila sa anumang virus,” said Fe Manarang.
