CABANATUAN CITY – Police simultaneously set up election checkpoints in various strategic entry and exit points as the election period started.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Richard Caballero said the checkpoints that were established in coordination with the Commission on Elections and other law enforcement agencies will strictly enforce the gun ban in accordance with Comelec regulations.
Permits to carry firearms outside residence are suspended during the election period.
Caballero said personnel who will man the checkpoints underwent a pre-deployment briefing Monday to ensure the smooth implementation of law and order particularly on the prohibited acts during this election period.
