BALANGA CITY — A congressman representing Partylist Pusong Pinoy on Friday, July 28, said that there are proper government agencies that will decide on the guilt or innocence of Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves.

Rep. Jet V. Nisay said some people were asking him and other members of the House ethics committee on what charges to file against Teves and their reply was: “There is a right agency that takes care of that.”

Nisay, representing the first and only partylist in Bataan, is a member of the House Ethics Committee and Privileges.

On two police colonels, both former Bataan police directors, whose courtesy resignations were accepted by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., Nisay said the two officers worked hard during the pandemic and Bataan was given a drug-free award.

The two police officials are Col. Joel Tampis and Col. Romell Velasco who are among 18 senior police officials whose resignations were accepted by the President.

Velasco was Bataan PD from Jan. 8, 2022 to March 2023 while Tampis assumed the PD position in 2020. Both officers were recipients of various awards.

Nisay met with local reporters and presidents of barangay chairmen from 11 towns and one city and discussed what the partylist has done in its first year of service.

He enumerated his accomplishments in health promotion, medical assistance, agriculture and food security, poverty alleviation, livelihood assistance, youth and sports empowerment, multi-sectoral support, aid to indigents, education, good governance and infrastructure development.
