ANGELES CITY — Some 364 health workers throughout the city’s public and private hospitals got their third booster shots through the Ronda Bakuna Bus.

This is upon the initiative of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. to deploy the city government’s Ronda Bakuna Bus via schedule to inoculate all the health workers in public and private hospital for their third booster shots.

Among the 364, 78 is from Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center; 121 in Angeles Medical Center; 73 in Dr. Armando L. Garcia Medical Center Inc.; 5 in R.S. Clinic and Hospital; 54 in St. Catherine of Alexandria Foundation and Medical Center; and 33 in Philippine Rehabilitation Institute.

The said inoculation is still ongoing and will be deployed at the Holy Family Medical Center Inc. on July 24, 8:30AM to 3PM; Jongno East Medical Center Inc. on July 24, 3:30PM to 4:30PM; Sacred Heart Medical Center on July 25-26; and Angeles University Foundation Medical Center on July 31-August 1 to inoculate their health workers.
Mayor Lazatin is encouraging healthworkers to get their booster shots, in order to stay protected from the virus.

The Ronda Bakuna Bus will inoculate bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccines, the third booster for frontline healthcare workers, with at least four months interval from the second booster.

Inside the Ronda Bakuna Bus are  doctors, nurses, health workers and support staff from City Health Office led by Dr. Verona Guevarra; Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Rodolfo Simeon; Office for Senior Citizens Affairs led by Eduardo Torres; and Gender and Development Office headed by Mina Cabiles.

To recall, Angeles City is the only Local Government Unit which launched a blended vaccination scheme — the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay and the Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay.

This is being supervised by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program.

This strategy was commended by the World Health Organization and the Department of Health.
