Mayor Lazatin to deliver 4th SOCA on June 29

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. will deliver his 4th State of the City Address (SOCA) on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Legislative Building as he vowed to “deliver non-stop services down to the grassroots level” in the new normal setting.

Lazatin’s 4th SOCA which will focus on the city’s progress and updates on key programs will air via live at the City Information Office Facebook page, 2pm, and other media partner entities.

During the address, Mayor Lazatin will highlight the advancements made in crucial areas such as health, education, social welfare services, livelihood, infrastructure development, environmental programs, and the fight against illegal drugs.

In expressing his gratitude, Mayor Lazatin will acknowledge the support of the City Council, led by Vice Mayor Vicenta Vega-Cabigting, for their valuable contributions and collaboration in implementing these programs.

The 4th State of the City Address is expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the city’s progress and development under Mayor Lazatin’s leadership.

The event serves as an opportunity for the local government to showcase their achievements and reaffirm their commitment to the continued growth and prosperity of Angeles City.

Buoyed by the significant achievements under his 6-point Development Agenda that he has vowed to pursue during his first term in office during the pre-pandemic level, Mayor Lazatin is expected to pursue his development programs to further improve basic services.

Mayor Lazatin’s 6-point Development Agenda include: A drug-free Angeles City, Better Access to Public Health, Solid Waste Management, Education, Youth and Sports Development, and Infrastructure Support.

Reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic that severely affected world economies, the Lazatin administration had collected nearly P3 billion in revenues for the Fiscal Year 2022 as it continued to register a healthy financial status with a year-on-year increase.
Mayor Lazatin had provided the needed economic stimulus to drive economic activities anew.

For 2022, the Angeles City LGU posted a combined revenue of P2,981,699,476.69 in local and external sources surpassing the income target of P2,859,789,832.00.

Under COVID-19 pandemic, the Angeles City LGU in 2021 recorded an income of ₱2,332,379,301.33. The city also collected Real Property Tax collection amounting to P300,585,473.70 in 2022. In 2021, the Angeles LGU had launched the online payment for Real Property Tax, as part of the city government’s program for Ease of Doing Business.

With the restrictions on health and safety protocols lifted, the city government further improved its tax collection scheme, while maintaining its stance not to increase business taxes.

Mayor Lazatin has also maintained a business-friendly atmosphere in the ever-growing business sector.

The local chief executive has reiterated he will further improve delivery of basic services to residents in the new normal amid the current thrust of the Marcos administration to provide a lean, efficient, and responsive government workforce as part of the whole-of-government approach to development.
