MARIVELES, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) that supervises the Freeport Area of Bataan here has a new administrator.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. recently appointed former Lanao del Sur Congressman Mohammed Hussein Pangandaman as the new AFAB head vice Engr. Emmanuel Pineda of Balanga City, Bataan.

Pineda was named AFAB administrator since 2016. He started with the Authority in 2010 as deputy administrator for operations.

AFAB information officer Hazel Keith Elloren said there was no formal turnover yet but that was expected any time this week or next week.

She said that with the end of Pineda’s term, the outgoing administrator wishes to thank all for their contribution to the success of the Bataan freeport that presently has 95 operating firms with more than 38,000 workers.

“Umaasa po si Administrator Pineda, at kami, na patuloy ninyong susuportahan ang AFAB sa ilalim ng bagong administrasyon, tungo sa parehong layunin na palakasin ang ekonomiya at pag-unlad ng pamumuhay at paggawa sa FAB at sa probinsya ng Bataan,” Elloren said.
