TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) held separate business training sessions for the students and teachers of Tagumbao National High School in Gerona, Tarlac.

This is part of the collaborative efforts of Barangay Tagumbao and Tagumbao National High School dubbed as Project KAP (Kaagapay ang Punong Barangay) and Project E-KAP (Edukasyon Kaagpay ang Punong Barangay).

About 15 senior high school students were trained on ways to jumpstart their business, and the process of fermentation and pickling.

DTI OI- Provincial Director Zaida Garibay supported and lauded Project KAP and Project E-KAP as it opens an opportunity to develop the entrepreneurial mindset of the youth.

“While they are still young, brimming with ideas, and eager to learn, we put efforts to prepare and develop them to become entrepreneurs who will in time bring prosperity to their community’s economy,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist Ana Marie Tabamo and Mr. Danilo Gacusan led the Meat Processing Skills Training, and How To Start Your Business Seminar for 15 teachers of the same school.

“We are grateful for this partnership. We hope that the participants will help us encourage more people, like their students, to consider entrepreneurship as a source of income,” Tabamo stressed.

She is hoping that the business training sessions will usher in more entrepreneurial activities within the community. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
