CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a multipurpose building (MPB) at barangay Poblacion in Sto. Tomas, Pampanga.
The two-storey, 140-square meter facility now serves as a barangay hall.
DPWH Pampanga 1st District Engineer Almer Miranda disclosed that P6.59 million was earmarked for the MPB under the agency’s Local Infrastructure Program.
“The construction of the building started in 2020 with an initial release of P1.89 million, and its completion was funded under the 2021 national budget amounting to P4.70 million,” Miranda said.
“We believe that the barangay officials will benefit the most from this project since they will have more space to work with, which will help them perform better,” he added.
The project includes installation of features such as ramps for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, stairs, roof, aluminum glass windows and panel doors. (CLJD-PIA 3)
