SCIENCE CITY OF MUNOZ — Relatives and friends flocked to pay final respect to Capt. Eleazar Mark Joven, the pilot who died at age 45 in the ill-fated Cessna C206 plane, at Coronel Funeral chapel here.

His ashes were brought in an urn at about 2 a.m. Wednesday by wife Esperanza Joven who was still in disbelief.

A resident of Poblacion West in this northern Nueva Ecija city, Joven had been flying aircraft for over 20 years now, said Esperanza.

“Hanggang ngayon ay hindi ko pa matanggap ang nangyari,” Esperanza said, recalling her husband left their home on Jan. 4 with his dream to have their 12-year-old son become a pilot too.

“Yun po ang pinagsisikapan niya. Gusto niyang maging piloto rin ang anak namin,” she said.

The interment will be on Friday, March 17.

Esperanza said she and other members of the family never stopped praying that her husband and other passengers have survived until their bodies were recovered on March 9.

The Cessna C206 plane RPC 1174 took off from Cagayan Airport in Isabela at 2:15 pm on Jan. 24 for Maconacon town.
