Carpenter nabbed for firing gun

    STA CRUZ, Zambales – A drunken carpenter was nabbed by elements of the local police in a brief chase after firing his gun outside a videoke bar at Barangay Lipay here the other day.

    Reports reaching the office of Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) director, Senior Supt. Rolando Felix, identified the suspect as Alejandro Torio, 54, native of Bimmaley, Pangasinan and presently residing at Poblacion South, this town.

    Investigation disclosed, that at about 1:45 a.m., the suspect, under influence of liquor went inside Mekini Videoke Bar and ordered for drinks< But after paying his bill, Torio, for unknown reasons, threatened some employees and fired his gun outside the said videoke bar causing panic among the employees and customers.

    Recovered from the suspect was one caliber 38 revolver (paltik) with no serial number, five live ammunitions and one spent shell in the gun’s chamber and additional 18 live ammunitions for caliber 38 revolver placed in the suspect’s ammo holster.

    The suspect is now detained at the Sta Cruz Police detention cell facing charges for violation of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
