CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the reconstruction and improvement along Balucuc Main Road in Apalit, Pampanga.
The P9.9-million project involves the reconstruction of damaged pavements measuring 525 lineal meters.
DPWH Pampanga 1st District Engineer Almer Miranda said completion of the project is expected to allow more convenient travel on the section of the local road.
It will also speed up transportation of goods, especially agricultural products.
“The Balucuc Main Road links the agricultural communities in this area of Apalit to different farm-to-market roads, and it is also an alternate road used by motorists to get to the Pulilan Bypass Road in Bulacan and to the North Luzon Expressway. Hence, the improvement of this road is necessary to provide the public with seamless mobility,” Miranda furthered.
The project was implemented under the agency’s Basic Infrastructure Program to provide better connectivity by improving local roads that connect to major highways. (CLJD-PIA 3)
