IBA, Zambales – The suspect who reportedly killed a 15 year-old student surrendered to the Zambales Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (ZCIDT) at their sub-office here yesterday.
Chief Inspector Rogelio Peñones, Jr., ZCIDT provincial officer, identified the suspect as Lymar Canosa, 26, resident of Purok 3, Barangay Sta Barbara, this town.
Police said Canosa wants to buy food for his family but cannot find a job “that’s why he allegedly robbed and killed a 15-year old student last May 26.”
Suspect surrendered to SPO3 Jose Acera, after admitting that he robbed and killed victim Maricar Espartero, resident of Tambak Balili, Barangay Palanginan, Iba town.
Investigation disclosed that the suspect, out of desperation and frustration, snatched the victim’s cellular phone who shouted and cried for helped.
Canosa reportedly grabbed the Espartero and dragged her to a grassy area. Reports showed that the suspect hit victim’s stomach and head several times with a rock.
Suspect is now detained at the ZCIDT detention cell facing charges robbery with homicide.
