TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – Two elderly women were killed in a fire that razed a residential house in Barangay Marcos here shortly after 8pm Tuesday.
The victims were identified as Donata Wy, 82, and Elizabeth Echalas, 58.
The municipal government, headed by Mayor Nerito Santos, Jr., paid for the cremation of the victims’ bodies as sought by their families.
Fire officials have yet to establish the cause of fire.
The house was built of light materials, initial report said.
Santos called on the public to be extra cautious against fire.
