BALANGA CITY — The Catholic Diocese of Balanga on Saturday announced that they have been offering prayers and Holy Masses for victims of the 7.8 quake in Turkey and Syria that left thousands of people dead and homeless.
“To those who are suffering in pain and have lost their loved ones, we pray and hope that God’s power strengthens them, support and sustain them with His graces and healing power,” Bishop Ruperto C. Santos said.
The Bataan prelate asked those in anguish in this immense death and destruction brought about by the devastating earthquake to turn to God for His charity and compassion.
To the departed, Santos prayed that “with God’s mercy, may He welcome them in His home in heaven and grant them eternal rest.”
The bishop asked those not affected by the tragedy to offer their helping hands. “All must be one and united to help, to share and to rebuild lives.”
