CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Central Luzon police director Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino has debunked yet another “fake news” in Kapampangan dialect now spreading in this province on the alleged presence of foreign terrorists in local communities to sow terror amid the slated arrival of heads of states at the Clark Freeport for an ASEAN gathering in November.

He urged Central Luzon folk to be “circumspect and intelligent” in using social media and not to readily believe information being spread from doubtful sources.

“Such information do not serve any purpose but to sow fear and alarm the public,” he said.

The latest fake news in Kapampangan claimed terrorists allegedly from Pakistan and Bangladesh have mixed with local Muslim communities in Angeles City and the towns of Porac and Mabalacat, and that police have even thwarted their recent attempt to blow up a gasoline tanker. The false news also warned people from frequenting local shopping malls.

Aquino said such reports have no basis at all and that government probers are now tracking down the initial source of the text message which is also now being spread via Facebook messenger.

He urged local folk not to be an accessory by refraining from passing on the report via text message or messenger.
