Victims of Typhoons Karding, Paeng received cash assistance

FIVE-hundred Tarlaqueño individuals benefited from the Regional Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) pay-out last November 17 that was attended by Senator and presidential sister Imee Marcos at the Diwa ng Tarlac’s Bulwagang KanLahi.

The beneficiaries, coming from the municipalities of Gerona, Mayantoc, Pura, Ramos, Victoria, Moncada, Camiling, Sta. Ignacia, San Clemente and San Manuel, whose houses were damaged by the twin typhoons received P3,000 each. A total of P1.5-million was released by the DSWD Regional Office headed by Regional Director Jonathan Dirain.

In Senator Marcos’ message, she said that she has many friends in Tarlac.

“Marami tayong kaibigan dito, maraming kabarkada at higit sa lahat, maraming tumatangkilik, sumusuporta at nagmamahal. Kaya’t sa inyong lahat, muli, sabi ng lola ko noon, ang langit daw ay mas malawak sa l;upa. Mas maraming solusyon keysa problema…Imee Solusyon and tawag po sa akin. Maraming salamat po at mabuhay ang Tarlac,” she said.

For her part, Governor Susan Yap said that Senator Imee has always been close to the heart of Tarlaqueños.

“Si Senator Imee has always been close to the heart of Tarlaqueños. Kapatid na po natin, adopted daughter of Tarlac,” Gov. Yap said.

She likewise said that the cash assistance was the initiative of Marcos who immediately sought funds to help the typhoon victims.

“Napakasaya nitong araw na ito. Alam ko apurahan and preparasyon pero dahil sa malaking puso ng ating senator Manang Imee mMarcos who has been always helpful tumugon agad dun sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo,” Yap said.

Present during the senator’s visit were Tarlac third district Congressman Noel Rivera, Board Members Henry Cruz, Danilo Asiaten, Danilo David, Romeo Evangelista, Joy Gilbert Lamorena, Jessie Aquino, Harmes Sembrano and Joselito Capitulo, Mayors Alice Guo of Bamban, Estelita Aquino of Moncada, Celso Banag of Ramos, Erlon Agustin of Camiling, Rex Villa Agustin of Victoria, Romeo Capitulo of San Jose, Jappy de Dios of Anao, Venus Jordan of La Paz, Elloy Eclar of Gerona and Noel Villanueva of Concepcion.—Arvin F.
