CHED-CL opens 500 scholarships for masteral, doctorate degrees

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) here announced yesterday the availability of 500 slots for graduate studies for the academic year 2017-2018 in Central Luzon.

    “We invite all higher education institutions (HEIs), public and private, to nominate their deloaded teaching and non-teaching personnel to full local scholarships for master’s or doctoral studies,” CHED Central Luzon director Caridad Abuan said.

    Aside from the full coverage of tuition and other fees, scholars will be receiving P20,000 for masteral course and P28,000 for doctoral as monthly living allowance, she said.

    Abuan said that “those who have already completed their coursework can apply for thesis or dissertation grant which will entitle them to receive a thesis and dissertation allowance amounting to P50,000 and P100,000 respectively, free tuition and other fees if they are enrolled in CHED-approved Delivering Higher Education Institution (DHEI), living allowance and transportation allowance if DHEI is in a diff erent province from the Sending Higher Education Institution,” Abuan added.

    She noted that such grant is also open to both displaced teaching and non-teaching personnel, as well as those separated from employment from their HEI because of the K to 12 Program implementation.

    Other grants include Scholarship for Graduate Studies- Abroad, Professional Advancement, Sectoral Engagement, Senior High School Solo Grant, Institutional Development and Innovation, and Discovery Applied Research and Extension for Trans/Inter-disciplinary Opportunities .

    Interested HEI faculty and personnel as well as displaced employees may visit the CHED Regional Office at Matulungin St., Diosdado Macapagal Government Center, Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, the CHED said in its advisory.
