CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two multi-purpose buildings in Nueva Ecija that now serve as new barangay halls.
They are located in barangay Pulong Buli in Sto. Domingo and barangay Luna in Cuyapo.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineer Armando Manabat said the structures are expected to end the inconvenience of the cramped office conditions experienced by the barangay officials.
“Even the residents availing social services are having difficulty because the old barangay halls have a smaller office area and they are not comfortable while doing transactions,” Manabat shared.
The newly constructed two-storey multipurpose buildings have enough space for the Office of the Punong Barangay, Sangguniang Barangay session hall, holding area, and rooms that can be used by barangay peace and security officers and health workers.
“End-users can now enjoy the convenience of having two bathrooms and the convenience of an air-conditioned session hall,” Manabat added.
These projects with a combined cost of P9.8 million were funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
