CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a slope protection in Floridablanca, Pampanga.
Implemented by DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office, the infrastructure is along Sto. Rosario Section of the Caulaman River.
District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. said the 389-lineal meter river wall will protect the lives and properties of residents.
“It will also preserve various nearby infrastructure whenever the area experiences heavy rainfall,” he added.
“Noong wala pang riprap ‘yan, kapag tumataas ang tubig, talagang umaabot dito. Maganda ang [project], kumbaga blessing siya sa aming mga nakatira dito lalo na’t malapit kami sa ilog. Malaking kaligtasan ‘yan sa amin,” resident Pedro Santiago shared.
P48.8 million was allotted for the project under the 2022 General Appropriations Act. (CLJD-PIA 3)
