CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Pampanga sangguniang panlalawigan approved on Monday the Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Ordinance of 2022, institutionalizing the provincial integration of RA 11223 or the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law.

UHC mandates a province-wide health system, through the provincial health office, for the delivery of the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative components of health care within the province. The province-wide health system shall link at least one apex or end-referral hospital.

A brainchild of Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda, the Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare has long been in actual effect to a great extent, albeit without enabling ordinance, in the health programs of the Capitol since her first term as then-governor.

Dahil do’n, napadali ang buhay nila,” Pineda said.

The vice governor asked mayors to help the Capitol with the data banking of prevalent ailments as well as potential health beneficiaries in their respective areas.
