MARIVELES, Bataan — An upland village here on Monday started a cleanliness campaign, luring villagers to submit plastic trash in exchange for rice.
Barangay Alion chairman Al Balan asked his village mates to submit to the barangay hall plastic materials like bottles, sachets of shampoo, coffee, cooking oil and others. For every kilo of the garbage, the barangay gives an equivalent one kilo of rice.
He asked the cooperation of the villagers for the success of the campaign.
