9-hour power outage to hit Tarlac, NE towns

    ANGELES CITY- The entire city of Tarlac and 13 municipalities in Tarlac province and two more towns in Nueva Ecija are slated to experience nine-hour power outage today, July 15.

    In an advisory yesterday, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the areas are served by the Tarlac I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Tarelco I) and Tarlac Electric Inc. (TEI).

    The power outagewhich will last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 15 include Tarlac City and the towns of San Manuel, Moncada, Paniqui, Anao, Gerona, Ramos, Pura, Sta.Ignacia, Victoria, San Clemente, Mayantoc, Camiling and San Jose in Tarlaç. In Nueva Ecija, the affected towns are Nampicuan and Cuyapo.

    NGCP said the power outage was to give way “to the immediate correction of critical hotspot at Concepcion Substation 69kV Bus A and transformer tie breaker,” the NGCP advisory said.

    Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion, NGCP added.
