PORAC, Pampanga—The Philippine National Police through its Logistic Support
Service headed by Brig. Gen. Lorenzo B. Detran Jr. donated firearms and personal
protective equipment (PPEs) to the Porac Municipal Police Station on July 29.
The firearms and PPEs were accepted by Trisha Angelie Capil on behalf of her
father Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil and Vice Mayor Francis “Budoy” Tamayo at the
Porac Municipal Hall.
The donated firearms were eight units of Elisco 5.56 rifle, one unit Colt, one unit
CIS, 70 pieces 5.56mm magazine, 20 pieces of 9mm magazine, 3,600 rounds ball
CTg 5.56mm, and 4000 pieces of surgical face masks.
Present during the turnover ceremonies were Regional Logistics and Research
Development Division chief Col. Amado Mendoza Jr., acting Pampanga police
director Col. Alvin Consolacion, and Porac police chief Lt. Col. Ferdinand Alejo.
Also in attendance were all the members of the sangguniang bayan.
Before the turnover, Fr. Jesus B. Layug Jr. blessed the firearms and PPE donations.
Tamayo thanked the PNP for their donation saying the firearms will serve as an
upgrade to the ones used by the local police.
Public safety has always been a top priority of Mayor Jing Capil’s administration.
Capil said round-the-clock police visibility has been a key factor in maintaining a
low crime rate in his town.
