BALANGA CITY – The provincial government of Bataan on Sunday night reported
that 21,647 have already been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease in four
of the five-day mass inoculation project launched to stop the rising number of
Covid-19 cases in the province.
Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III said those who have submitted to vaccination were
5,499 individuals on July 20; 5,287 on July 21; 6,509 on July 22; and 4,452 on July
23.
“Last day of initial campaign tomorrow, Monday, please spread the word so we
can get more Bataeños to go to the inoculation centers,” the governor said.
The governor has reiterated his request to 237 barangay chairmen to exert extra
effort in persuading those who have not yet been jabbed with the first dose and
the booster shot to submit themselves to vaccination.
Garcia said the project named “Bakunahan Bayanihan sa Barangay: Panalo ang
Bakunado at Boosted na Bataeño” ran from July 20 – 23 and July 25 in vaccination
sites in all 11 towns and one city in the province and the provincial health office in
Balanga City.
Raffle draws were held daily in each of the inoculation centers where winners got
P1,000 in cash, courtesy of the concerned local government unit.
On the final day, July 25, at stake in the general raffle draw of the provincial
government are cash prizes of P2,000, P5,000 and P10,000 for 200, 100 and 60
winners, respectively. Laptops for 20 winners and tablets for another 20 are also
ready for the final draw.
Garcia said vaccination will go on even after the five-day period.
