GAPAN CITY – A suspected leader of a robbery and illegal drugs group was nabbed
in a pot session with three companions in a police operation in Barangay Mahipon
here on July 16.
The arrests were a result of the service of a search warrant against the alleged
gang head Marlon Salvador, 37, of the said village, according to the police. The
three other suspects were identified as Richard Ising, 40, of Minit, Surigao del
Norte; siblings Arnel and Raymond Morales, 29 and 39 years-old, respectively of
Lubang Occidental Mindoro who temporarily live in Barangay Bungo this city.
Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito, city police chief, said Salvador was a high value target
that was included in Central Luzon's top 10 drug personalities.
In her report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Jess Mendez, Desamito said they
conducted the search on Salvador's residence with the support of other police
units on the strength of a warrant numbered 2002-07 issued by the Gapan City
Regional Trial Court.
"During the implementation, the suspects were surprised and caught while in the
act of sniffing suspected shabu (pot session)," Desamito said.
Operatives seized from the suspects one shotgun, one .22 rifle, one .38 revolver,
an airgun, a hand grenade, and several rounds of ammunitions.
They also confiscated six sachets of shabu weighing 40.4 grams with an estimated
value of P274,720, and other paraphernalia, Desamito reported.
Salvador received the warrant and witnessed the search, she added.
Charges of violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms Law) and RA 9165
Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) were leveled against the suspects.
