CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Pampanga police has reported several arrests early this week, including those of suspected drug dealers and, elsewhere, alleged drunks gone too comfortable with cops.

In this capital city, three suspected illegal drugs dealers were arrested by the police at Miranda Compound in Barangay Quebiawan last Monday afternoon.

Operatives from this city’s police station, the Provincial Intelligence Branch, the Highway Patrol Group, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Augusto Rivera, 60, Loreta Lintag, 35, and Amy Manlapaz,34, at the compound where they were residing.

A police report described the suspects as “notorious.” Found in their possession were 19 pieces of medium sized and two big transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a .45 pistol with bullets, four motorcycles and two pieces of marked money used by government agents for the buy-bust scheme that led to their arrest.

In San Luis town late Monday night, the local police arrested four more in Barangay San Sebastian after they slapped and cursed at policemen who flagged down their swerving tricycle which was playing loud stereo music.

The San Luis police identified the suspects as Raul Gatchalian , 46, who was driving the tricycle, Alvin Caliwag, Romeo Malonzo, Enrique Castro, and Isaac Santos, all of legal age and residents of Barangay Sta.Monica in San Luis.

The police reported that cops flagged down their tricycle which they noticed to be suspiciously swerving and playing loud music on its stereo. While the tricycle stopped, the suspects reportedly cursed the cops, and that Caliwag even slapped one policeman. They were charged with violation of the Anti-Drunk Driving law and direct assault on persons in authority.
