BALANGA CITY — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) provincial office in Pilar town announced Tuesday that they have registered under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) 74.29 % of the targeted population in Bataan as of June 30, 2022.

Richard Guevara, PSA–Bataan supervising statistical specialist, said that of their target population of 774,485, they have already registered 575,333 of five years old and above since 2020. Those still unregistered totaled 199,152. Guevara said that records showed that the Philippine Postal Corp. has received from PSA 218,484 national ID cards for Bataan and already delivered 212,307 as of May 2022.

Nationwide, PSA reported that 10,548,906 cards have been delivered as of April 30, 2022 or 33.7% of their target this year.

Daisy Mae Buenaventura, PhilSys focal person, said that presently they are registering individuals five years old and above without limit.

Maria Rosario dela Rosa, PSA–Bataan registration officer II, discussed their accomplishments and target for each of the 11 towns and one city in the province.

She enumerated three challenges PSA faces in the national ID registration. These are: late distribution of physical IDs, lack of supporting documents, and mobile registration schedule that she said appropriate measures are being implemented by their office.
