BALANGA CITY – A report from the provincial health office on Saturday, June 25, showed that the number of active cases of the coronavirus disease in Bataan slightly rose to 30 from only eight on June 8.
On June 8, active Covid-19 cases were reported in seven of the 11 towns and one city in the province: Balanga City with two, and one each from Pilar, Mariveles, Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, and Samal. On June 25, 10 local government units indicated active cases.
The latest PHO report listed Balanga City with six active cases, Bagac – 2, Limay – 1, Pilar – 3, Mariveles – 5, Orion – 2, Dinalupihan – 5, Hermosa – 2, Morong – 3, and Orani – 1.
Total confirmed cases reached 38,114 with the addition of two new infections at one each from Dinalupihan and Orion. Two newly-recovered from the deadly virus, increased the number of recoveries to 36,671. No new death was listed on June 25. The total number of casualties from Covid–19 remained at 1,413.
Bataan continues to be under Alert Level 1.
Meanwhile, PHO reported that 1,437,785 vaccine doses against Covid–19, including 180,157 first booster shots for the general adult population, have been administered in Bataan. About 87.63 percent of the target population or 609,515 individuals have been fully vaccinated.
Vaccinations are ongoing in different inoculation centers in the province for the first, second and first booster doses while the second booster shots are available for senior citizens and health care workers.
Records showed that 6,892 persons from priority groups A1, A2 and immunocompromised individuals for aged 18 and above have received the
second booster shot or fourth dose.
