SENATORIAL candidate and former Tarlac first district Representative Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. visited Tarlac province anew last December 15 and met with local and barangay leaders of the first and second districts of the province.
Teodoro, who is a former Defense Secretary, was warmly welcomed by Governor Susan Yap, Vice Governor Carlito “Casada” David, second district Congressman Victor Yap, board members, first and second district mayors and barangay officials and leaders at the Tarlac State University Gymnasium.
A bar top-notcher in 1989, Teodoro was accompanied by his wife, former House Representative and now United Nations Children Emergency Fund [Unicef] Philippine Special Envoy Nikki Prieto-Teodoro and their son Jaime.
Teodoro presented to his fellow Tarlaqueños his seven pillars of governance for the country dubbed “Ang Pitong Haligi sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa Bagong Henerasyon”.
His seven pillars are the effective vaccination program, funding for quality education, keeping peace and order in the country, food security, geo-political harmony with other countries, strengthening of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and better harmony between the government and the private sector.
In his earlier visit, Tarlac officials have vowed to support and campaign hard for Teodoro’s senatorial bid.
Gov. Yap said that she owes Teodoro a lot of debt of gratitude.
“Lingid sa kaalaman nyo, wala po ako dito kundi dahil kay Senator Gibo. Nung una pa lang, he was instrumental in my candidacy as congresswoman then. Kaya ibabalik ko po ten-fold ang trabaho para siguraduhin ang kanyang panalo sa Tarlac at sa bansa bilang senador.” she said.
The governor vowed to campaign hard for the victory of Teodoro and urged all officials to do the same. AFMC
