IBA, Zambales — An African national in the police drug watch list as a “High Value Individual” was arrested with P2,329,500-worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Zambales police Friday morning.
Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño identified the suspect as Gareth Sampson y William, 42. South African national, presently residing in Barangay Maloma, San Felipe town.
In his report to ZPPO, Lt. Anthony A. Soria, OIC of the Cabangan Municipal Police Station said that joint elements of the station’s special drug enforcement unit led by Lt. Simon R Gonzales together with the provincial drug enforcement unit conducted a buy-bust covered by PDEA Coordination No. 10004-112021-0550 that resulted in the arrest of a Sampson in Barangay Sto. Nino, Cabangan town.
Confiscated from the suspect were one transparent heat sealed plastic sachet containing suspected kush; two P500 bill and seven bills with markings constituting the buy-bust money; 14 transparent plastic zip lock packs with 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected kush with estimated weight of 821 grams valued at P2,052,500; and 30 pieces of medium vape and 43 pieces of small vape containing suspected hashish oil with an estimated market value of P277, 000, according to PDEA.
Sampson is now locked up at the Cabangan MPS jail facing charges for violation of Sec. 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 5 (Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals of Article II of RA 9165.
“Zambales police continues its unrelenting drive to go after suspected drug personalities to eradicate the drug menace and criminality in the province,” said Cardiño as he commended his men for the accomplishment.
