IBA, Zambales — A man wanted for nine counts of rape was arrested by elements of the Zambales police in San Marcelino town Friday morning.
Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño identified the suspect as Sammy Dela Cruz y Matabiai, 36, of Barangay Rabanes, San Marcelino. The suspect is listed as “Most Wanted Person in Provincial Level.”
Acting San Marcelino police chief Capt. Teddy R. Padauan said joint elements of the town police and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted operations against most wanted persons and served the suspect a warrant of arrest for rape and statutory rape under Criminal Case Nos. 2021-518 to 2021-526FC issued by Presiding Judge Gemma Theresa B. Hilario-Logronio of RTC-Branch 12, Olongapo City, Zambales dated Nov. 23, 2021, with no bail recommended.
The suspect is now detained at the San Marcelino MPS jail.
